Credit to my friend, Leon Leggett who, along with The Ayatollah of Grillatolla, Andy Groves, was at Pinehurst #2 last winter.
Leon’s looper, Chief, when asked about a read said it was a “torn pajama”.
Now, this was not LL’s first rodeo by a long shot, but this even he had never heard…”I beg your pardon?” was Leon’s response.
Chief looked up with the straightest of faces and replied, “One ball out, man, one ball out”
Of course…he missed it.
