Opening up golfdigest.com this morning there was a terrific article by Tim Rosaforte on at least part of the subject of The PGA Championship post below.
Tim’s writing (and commentary) is always sharp…but it was so nice to read what I was trying to say.
You won’t be disappointed. Go here and click on Tim’s column…read some first class writing:

You know, Rick, once upon a time…Tim wrote some destination features for me at Southern Links. Thus, I can take a least partial credit for his rise in stature among golf mag scribes. He is very good, indeed. However, for a REAL writer, how aboth this for an opening line to a short story…
“My father picked me up from prison in a stolen Dodge Neon with an eight ball in the glove compartment and a hooker named Mandy in the back seat.”
It truly doesn’t get any better than that, which, by the way, is from our mutual friend Dennis Lehane and his story “Until Gwen” from his new book, “Coronado.”
Best,
Brett
