Detectives investigating the discovery of a burning body at Carnoustie Golf Links in Angus have confirmed there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

Greenkeepers in Carnoustie found the smoldering body near the 11th tee on the Buddon Course on Wednesday of last week.

The area was cordoned off and a tent covered the remains to allow forensic examinations to take place.

Police have thanked the public for all the information they have provided.
