American golfer Matt Kuchar is all set to lead a World Squad which will take on the Canadian squad in a number of matches in the inaugural edition of the Canada Cup matchup at the Halifax to be organized on June 30th. The organizers announced on Wednesday that the match up will be first of its kind and they are looking to advertise this tournament as a leading tournament of the future. The Canadian team will be comprised of seasoned golfers like David Hearn, Mike Weir and Graham DeLaet and the event will be held at the Ashburn Golf Club in Canada.
The American team will feature two other PGA Tour players along with Matt Kuchar and each of the sides will also feature a golfer from the developing tours in order to encourage young and upcoming golfers.
Matt Kuchar, currently the 11th ranking golfer in the world, has already been victorious in six PGA tours; including the famous 2012 Player’s Championship and also the 2013 WGC Match Play. The American has already made a name for himself in the golf circuit and it is not surprise that he was chosen as the captain of the American team all set to compete in the first ever Canada Cup.
This can be huge step in the advancement of the game as it is a new tournament and it promises to be a turning point in the inter nation games which are been popularized now. The tournament will also be a great opportunity for the new players from both teams to practise their skills with the veterans and the proper exposure for the international stage. The Canada Cup will be held in June and it is promised to be a huge money spinner as well as a spectacle for both the country’s crowds.
